Position: Graphic Designer

Reports to: Director, Marketing

Location: San Diego, CA

Job Summary:

The Graphic Designer develops and executes visual design elements for web and print in order to reinforce brand awareness, drive traffic, acquire new customers and grow sales.

Primary responsibilities include designing and updating design files, and adhering to brand guidelines where applicable. The position works closely with the Creative, Copy, and all Marketing Departments as well as Digital Agencies and Printers. Additional support may be required at times for departments outside of the Marketing umbrella.

Position Requirements:

  • Creativity. Tech chops. Versatility. Deep knowledge of branding and marketing techniques.

  • Ability to create visual concepts to communicate the Organifi brand.

  • Supporting design requests across all departments, including digital and print needs.

  • Meet with those on the corporate team to determine the scope of graphic design projects

  • Advise team on strategies to reach a particular audience

  • Determine the message our design should portray

  • Create images that identify Organifi products and convey the brand

  • Select colors, images, text style, and layout

  • Present the design to Director of Marketing

  • Incorporate changes recommended by Director of Marketing into the final design to meet specifications.

  • Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them

  • Evaluating and communicating specific needs prior to implementation of projects to begin (size specs, audience, usage, etc.)

  • Designing print and digital items including, but not limited to: labels, packaging, social media posts, advertisements, postcards, brochures, direct mail, photo editing, infographics, logos, e-Books, and more.

  • Some use of illustrative skills with rough sketches and working on layouts for print production.

  • Working as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, stylists, illustrators, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists.

  • Learning how to use a new software or program.

  • Accurate and thorough use of file versioning processes to retain up-to-date label certification files.

  • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts, which fall within the realm of brand and style guides.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design – or – minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience with a public online portfolio showcasing their work.

  • CPG packaging design preferred.

  • Positive, “can-do” attitude.

  • Proficient with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite (including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro).

  • Strong writing, editing, and grammar skills are preferred.

  • Keen eye for attention to detail.

  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills; the right candidate loves working through challenges.

  • Excellent time management skills and easily adapts to changing priorities and direction in a progressive work environment.

  • Demonstrate a high-level of creativity using visual grouping, graphics (such as photos, graphs, charts, etc.) to improve brand awareness, clarity and visual communication.
