Since its founding in 2010, the Wesleyan Media Project (WMP) has become the “go to” source for real-time, non-partisan information on the volume, spending, sponsorship and content of political advertising across the United States.

Reporting to the Project Manager, Wesleyan Media Project, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the operations of the Wesleyan Media Project’s tracking and analysis of media, including, but not limited to television ads, digital ads and local news.

Responsibilities include:
Training and supervising student Research Assistants (RAs).
Assisting with grant reporting.
Contributing to public communications including project website and social media feeds.
Performing data analysis, content identification, and data management tasks.
Coordinating logistics for team meetings, including travel, catering, technology needs, conference calls, web tools, etc.
Conducting literature review and other research.
Assisting with budget management.
Other duties as assigned.

This is a grant funded position with funding approved for one year with further continuation contingent upon mutual agreement and continued grant funding.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience managing operations, programs or projects or an equivalent combination or experience, training and experience.
Knowledge of applying for or writing grants.
Knowledge of managing budgets.
Demonstrated experience hiring, training and supervising staff.
Experience working with social media tools and managing website content.
Excellent research and reporting skills.
Excellent communication skills, analytical and problem solving abilities.
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Experience in the MS Office suite of applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Experience with web-based collaboration tools, such as Google docs and Google sheets.
Demonstrated commitment to work within a diverse environment and interact openly with individuals of different backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters in a related field such as Government, Public Affairs, or Communications.
Experience in statistical software such as SPSS or Stata.
Prior Higher Education experience.
