The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for handling the social media accounts for Arbor Lodging Management’s portfolio. This will include properties ranging from full service luxury hotels to select service properties. This will work with the General Managers and other key members of the hotel team to develop a social media plan that will increase the outreach, interactions, and engagement. This role will be centralized at the Arbor Lodging Management’s corporate office in the West Loop.
Social Media Job Duties
  • Generate new and manage the already posted content (written and visual) that is addressed to a specific target audience.
  • Draft, edit, and proofread content including the body and headlines for all internal and external needs
  • Seek new prospects for mutual promotion.
  • Develop and realize into practice SM programs that guarantee proper online messaging and promote corporate objectives through LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Slideshare, Twitter, etc.
  • Advance Arbor Lodging community advocacy efforts
  • Monitor the existing design (ads, thumbnails, landing pages, profile pictures, etc.) and keep abreast of its modifications
  • Contribute to the creation of ad campaigns with their further distribution throughout social media.
  • Train properties in crafting online reviews and responding to them in Tripadvisor, Google, and other online and brand review sites.
  • Cooperate with the related departments’ staff in order to publish content on social networking platforms
  • Prepare reports based on marketing campaigns’ performance for the upper management
Social Media Responsibilities
  • Monitor and update the corporate pages within each SM platform to ensure the highest possible saliency of the company’s content
  • Monitor the corresponding social metrics/data, define the best practices, and use the acquired information to promote the brand’s marketing presence.
  • Add value to team effort in terms of interdepartmental cooperation
  • Hatch decent content (image, text, and video) that drives user engagement
  • Hype the newly acquired/renovated hotels and their amenities
  • Keep track of SEO and web traffic
  • Stay abreast of all the social media updates and modifications
  • Counsel co-workers on how to make use of social media with the highest success rate
  • Manage the performance of SM accounts
  • Urge new ways to expand the existing client base
Social Media Requirements
  • Educational background in New Media, Marketing or matching field of study
  • Operating experience as an SM Coordinator
  • High level of familiarity with various social media spaces
  • Proficiency in keyword research, SEO and Google Analytics
  • Working knowledge of online marketing channels and strategies
  • Aptitude at delivering creative content (image, video, and text)
