Role Overview:
The Programmatic Media Manager will assist the Media Director in leading an in-house team responsible for executing programmatic media campaigns and developing programmatic best practices in partnership with internal teams and agency partners. The Programmatic Media team is responsible for the day to day planning and implementation of campaigns, testing and optimization, and interpreting campaign results to deliver actionable insights.
The manager will support the Media Director with the management of core technology partners, budgeting/forecasting and consulting with internal marketing and business partners including Media Strategy teams, Category Marketing, Marketing Technology & Operations, Creative and .Com.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Media Director in managing Programmatic Media team, directly overseeing a planning team of 5+.
  • Manage, train and coach direct reports, ultimately leading inspired, engaged individuals, by providing clear direction, consistent feedback and a focus on development.
  • Hold programmatic team and DSP partners accountable for rigorous adherence to SOP including buying standards, campaign goals, and budgets.
  • Partner with Operations and Reporting counterparts to continuously improve process and drive efficiencies.
  • Participate in strategic planning for the programmatic team and engage direct reports in the planning process.
  • Maintain an ongoing relationship with agency partners to ensure alignment across internal and external campaigns.
  • Campaign Planning, Execution, Monitoring, and Optimization
  • Manage daily communication and collaboration with Director on expectations, deliverables and timelines.
  • Simultaneously oversee a high volume of campaigns with ongoing, analysis and optimizations to identify trends and drive performance against multiple KPIs.
  • Monitor performance across campaigns via weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports to ensure campaigns are delivering on KPIs, understand key drivers of performance, and evaluate overall trends.
  • In partnership with Operations and Reporting functions, produce and present analysis that delivers insights on effectiveness of planning, testing and media optimization and management. Recommend future actions based on findings.
  • Inventory management and reporting, including forecasting inventory availability across partners and platforms, and working with agency and internal teams to oversee audience use across campaigns.
  • Manage tests of new inventory sources, audience strategies, and optimization levers.
  • Partner cross-functionally with a variety of teams including Paid Media, Media Network, Marketing Technology, and .Com.
  • Work closely with finance team on monthly budget forecasting and reconciliation at a granular level.
  • Work with internal and external partners to aid in identifying, reporting and resolving technical issues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years’ progressive marketing and media experience in an agency, client or publisher setting.
  • 4+ years’ digital media experience inclusive of hands-on programmatic display experience (agency or client) across campaign management, planning, buying, operations and reporting. May include experience with bid management platforms for social and SEM as part of this experience.
  • Expertise in Google DV360 (formerly DBM) and comfortable in Campaign Manager (formerly DCM).
  • 4+ years people/resource leadership (direct or indirect), including 2 years direct/team leadership experience
  • A commitment to mentoring and developing others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Passionate about leading and developing people.
  • Retail and national brand experience preferred.
  • Significant organizational skills to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and demanding quick responses.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Experience working with first party data in a DMP
  • Technical knowledge of ad tech and marketing measurement
